MLB pro Alex Vesia began dating his wife, Kayla Vesia, in 2019

They got married in January 2024 and announced in April 2025 that they were expecting a baby

Alex Vesia's wife, Kayla Vesia, has been the baseball player's biggest cheerleader throughout his career.

The MLB pro and Kayla began dating in 2019, after Alex messaged her on Instagram. The pair got married in January 2024 and announced in April 2025 that they were expecting their first child together.

From his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins to joining the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2021, Kayla has been supporting him on and off the field. In August 2024, she shared a video on Instagram watching him play, captioned, "His #1 fan, cheering him on always! 📣."

Ahead of the 2025 World Series, the Dodgers issued a statement on social media sharing that Alex would be stepping off the field "as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter."

"The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date," the statement continued.

Kayla attended Minot State University, a college in Minot, N.D., where she graduated in May 2018, according to her Instagram.

As Kayla shared on her Instagram, she was a student athlete through the majority of her college years, though she had to miss the end of her senior year season due to an injury.

Alex and Kayla's love story dates back to Jan. 1, 2019, when Alex messaged her on Instagram, writing, "Hey you! 😊," as she shared in a January 2023 TikTok.

She said that they met up for their first date at a dessert shop and "talked for hours and hours," and not long after, they bonded over a date at Supercross, an indoor dirt bike racing competition, per her Instagram.

"One of biggest things we connected on, & now we get to go every year together 🤍," she captioned the 2022 post.

That April, Alex asked Kayla to be his girlfriend.

Alex celebrated their three-year anniversary in April 2022 with a heartfelt Instagram post, writing, "Happy 3 Years Babe! It’s gone by so fast! I love doing life with you!"

He continued, "You make me the happiest guy in the world! I love you so much! ❤️❤️."

On Nov. 18, 2022, Alex asked Kayla to marry him, and announced their engagement on Instagram the following day.

"I get to spend the rest of my life with Mi Bebe! 11-18-2022 holds a special place in my heart!" he captioned the post. "I can’t wait to marry the love of my life!"

Alex and Kayla tied the knot on Jan. 5, 2024 — "the best day" of their lives, as they wrote in a joint Instagram post a few days later.

"We couldn’t have planned for a better day it was everything we dreamed of and more," the caption read. "Very thankful for everyone who traveled and made time to celebrate us! LOVE YA’LL -The Vesias ❤️‍🔥."

That November, they spent their honeymoon at Hotel Xcaret Arte in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, as Kayla shared on Instagram.

In honor of their first wedding anniversary in January 2025, she posted a sweet message on Instagram to her beau: "What an incredible first year of being married, this year set a record of how many things can happen in just one year! You make life so fun, I love that I get forever with you. ♥️," Kayla wrote.

In April 2025, Alex and Kayla announced in a joint Instagram post that they were expecting their first child together.

They shared the news with their families while taking a photo together on the Los Angeles Dodgers' field, as Kayla posted on Instagram.

Kayla has been by her husband's side throughout his MLB career, attending events with him and cheering him on during games from the sidelines.

When the Dodgers became World Series Champions in October 2024, Kayla celebrated on the field with him and marked the occasion with an Instagram post.

"Hell of [a] season & hell of a postseason!" she wrote. "So proud of you & your passion for what you love!"

More recently, as the Dodgers made it into the National League Championship Series in October 2025, Kayla wrote on Instagram that she was "proud" of Alex.
